Compassionate Catering 2016

As the world becomes more aware of the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, I am forever in debt to those who have served before me, and continue to pass along the messages of Hope, Grace & Ancient Wisdom.  Stay tuned for early bird discounts on this Compassionate Catering menu, or contact me at by emailing me at alicia@pandorasproducts.net. It’s almost holiday season, and we’ve got a Compassionate way to share it with family & friends…and PS, you won’t even have to mention it’s plant-based, which may save you a lot of unwanted grief!  (Because I do understand the dilemma, believe ...

It’s a wrap!

Here’s a little known fact… I hate getting wraps or burrito’s that are messy, or uneven.  I worked for a Mexican fast food chain for 4-1/2 years in my teenage years (I’m sure you can guess which one!), and was highly-trained in wrapping burritos.  Yes, one can be “highly-trained” in a skill such as this – or at least you could be in those years! (I’ve recently learned this IS still a handy skill.) Never-the-less, that training made me quite picky about how to properly portion, ration, roll and present burrito’s and wraps. Every bite should contain every ingredient.   ...

Dinner and a Movie? #FFC

In case you didn’t know, my husband and I started a side project together, called Food Flix Cinema (#FFC).  We’ve combined our love of movies and food (respectively), hosting monthly events at Cyrus: Chai & Coffee Company in Bay Shore.  We were fortunate enough to have an article published about it, just 4 months into our endeavor.  All of our event’s promotional materials include the tagline, “Re-imagining the TV Dinner Experience,” because that’s our exact goal.  We both grew up in a TV dinner era, when Swanson’s (aka Salt-son’s?) was very popular…fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and apple pie. ...

Why use chemical powders when you can make your own?

It’s hot.  There’s no denying the fact that we are well into summer, and we’re all feeling the heat.  I’ve always wanted a cooling, TRULY natural baby powder that could help with runner’s chafing, baby diaper freshening, or just something to use when you get out of the shower.  If you’re with me on that and you’ve avoided the chemical-laden stuff in the stores for as long as I have, I have a solution for you. I’m a HUGE fan of Rosemary Gladstar, in case you haven’t been to any of my herbal or essential oil workshops where I talk ...

How far does your Compassion extend?

compassion: sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it. “No one likes a reformed _____” (one of my favorite quotes to pose to people in workshops); in this instance, insert omnivore.  Every cause has militant supporters who border on the side of unhealthy levels of attachments to their belief system (if you haven’t attended previous workshops of mine that mention this topic, please consider reading Don Miguel Ruiz Jr’s The Five Levels of Attachment). On Saturday, June 18, Paul McCartney will turn a healthy age of 74.  On May 1, 1993 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA, ...

Are you committed?

Are you the type of person who doesn’t commit to events or (worse yet) cancels, once you’ve made an appointment? Do you linger in paying people what you owe? Over the last week or so, I’ve had multiple conversations with those who’ve experienced the above dilemmas.  I can only assume people don’t know how they affect the bigger picture, so let me explain how disrespectful it is on multiple levels, to be consistently noncommittal. Most of the people I know, work in a “9-5” job, where they get paid when they aren’t really working; as long as they show up, ...
