March Into Mindfulness

Give me 31 days and I’ll show you a happier, more mindful life

I’m sure you can agree we humans are less and less connected… disconnected more now than ever.

For a highly social species that relies on others, this is horrible. I declare March as a month for Mindfulness, and I challenge you to March Into Mindfulness! 😊

Tomorrow, I’m teaching one of my favorite classes, Mindfulness 101. The story behind this class is amusing, but I’ll save that for when you take the class—just know I it’s not something I thought I was qualified to do, despite years of teaching about sensory awareness, mindful eating, the importance of mindset, so on.

Hey, we all need someone to point out our blind spots, right!? We all have shit to work on…

In honor of that class, I wanted to share 5 insights not covered. In conversations with friends and other business owners lately, there’s a common theme appearing… we’re less and less connected than ever—meaning less aware and mindful of each other.

2 disclaimers:

  1. Be gentle with yourself, if any of these sound familiar. We’re all beautiful BEings that need help in improving ourselves. It’s why we take classes, read books, and hire therapists, coaches or mentors.
  2. These aren’t “pet peeves,” though it may appear that way. They are observations others shared with me. I pass along potential solutions so we can improve our lives and the world.

As you read this, consider if you have anything to add to these. If so, send them over or comment below—we have different ideas about how to make the world a better place. I’d love to share your thoughts!

Most important, you don’t have to be a Tibetan monk to experience the benefits of mindfulness. These are 5 basic practices that improve your connections with others in ways you may not have considered.

Hindsight is 2020

Today marks my father’s 70th birthday—I lost him almost 22 years ago… he taught me to fight, to question, and not bow to trendy lies. I wrote this article a year ago, never published, lingering over my head… out of fear. As a small business, it’s extra risky for me to go against the narrative. As a business focused 100% on natural healing, I’m in the spotlight. Speaking out has cost me friendships and business partners, though my stance has never changed in 30 years—Nature is the safest healer we have, unlike Western Medicine. Despite the dangers, it’s not “me” to remain silent. It’s against my Identity to allow government and sickcare overreach to silence me. I’m tired of this, but I know it continues until we speak out and wake the 40% in a lull. My silence allows deaths to continue, and unlike what we’re seeing from the higher powers, that causes me sleepless nights.

Becoming a Happier BEing

I begin each morning with gratitude-whether it’s before I open my eyes, or immediately after. I started the practice as a replacement habit for checking my phone, and as a success tip I learned from someone I follow. As with all habits and practices, it’s deepened through the years.
During random moments of the day, I find myself expressing gratitude for little things, insignificant to most. I became a happier BEing. I started expressing my feelings more, which is NOT a comfortable trait for me. I even found myself wanting to help more, which I didn’t understand. I received this email from the Plantrician Project today (November 25, 2021), which explained all of this, and so much more.

The 6-foot Rule

Show up. Stick around. Think of how others live in the realms outside of your bubble.

P.S. Posting liberal feelings and thoughts on social media does little to progress a movement. In my observations, it stems from feelings of guilt over the privilege we’ve had throughout our lives. It’s apparent those screaming the most for radical reform are the very people incentivized their entire lives. If this concept rubs you the wrong way, I urge you to ask how you’ve benefitted from the system prior to asking others to review their status.

Dehumanizing Compassion

I see a direct correlation between dehumanization and Compassion. Compassion is a main theme running through all of my courses—I believe showing Compassion for Nature equates to Compassion for humans.  But this isn’t always the case, as our Ego and the attachment to ideals, often leaves us *slightly* less Compassionate for those who disagree with us. (Don Miguel Ruiz discusses this in depth in his book, “The Five Levels of Attachment.”)

In the last year, I’ve noticed a frightening movement from global political leaders. Dehumanize All. (Yes, I believe there is a movement towards the NWO and there’s a global agenda at play. Research this outside of google and see what search results you find.)

  • Wear a face covering.
  • Avoid social contact.
  • Fear germs.

My Holiday Wish for You…

I urge you to consider the dangers of the storm that’s been created: a world where there is no right answer. (So it seems.)
Without that, there’s no resolution. When two sides dig in their heels and there’s no healthy debate, how can there be a compromise or negotiation?
There is no returning to the past normal. We don’t know what the future holds. Our actions today determine the future of mankind. We’re at a critical tipping point that has little to do with a virus.

Learning to Witness…

3 years ago today, we arrived to 2’ of snow in Maine. It was the hardest winter we endured… grieving and buried in foot after foot of snow. We didn’t know what our backyard looked like until April, when the snow finally melted.
Over the last 3 years, we shed toxic relationships—business, personal, even our toxic selves.

5 Important Basics: Home Décor & Simplifying Your Life

It’s the final week of my series. This week, I’ll share the most important lessons I’ve learned from years of research and observing—having a deep curiosity about Nature never hurts…

Do You Suffer From Confirmation Bias?

Without external influences of the media or other forms of drama, the eagle continued building. It gave me hope and realigned my focus. Build… this is all temporary. I continued thinking about the future and the solution to the temporary pain humanity is facing:

  • We are not prepared for a worldwide health crisis. Our comorbidities are staggering, and our finances are a mess. We don’t know what our “normal” body feels like, so how do we know if warmth is a hot flash or fever? How do we know the headache isn’t from seasonal allergies? Is your coughing and shortness of breath normal asthma or a symptom of the virus?
  • We can survive with less than we think. Despite the hoarding we saw (or in spite of it), it’s clear we can survive on less “stuff.” I hope you learned to make do with less and if not, why not?
  • We’re easily distracted unless we have bigger goals than what’s on the news or social media (SM). As I mentioned, I avoided SM and most emails for the past 5 months. Unless an email was a trusted source on boosting my immunity, building financial stability or a business, or offered an alternative viewpoint to what coworkers were discussing (AKA translating the news for me), I avoided external contact. I’m not a conspiracy theorist nor superhuman. I just know the negative effects of following the corrupted agenda of mainstream media.
  • Progressive businesses always find alternate and new ways to share and connect with their tribes. I’ve seen incredible changes in business structures of friends, and new businesses emerge. To all of you making waves and moving forward, thank you. <3
  • Society is a fragile illusion. This is an unsavory lesson I’ve accepted over the last few months. We’re watching as humanity collapses in front of us. We’re a nation of Karen’s and SM platforms censoring alternative, valid scientific evidence. As I heard today, when have you ever heard of a drug becoming as controversial as Hydroxychloroquine?

I’ve studied science and natural healing for over 20 years. I’ve never seen a single drug have such controversy; nor a nation so divided about whether we should open schools, wear masks, defund police, social distance, open businesses, or focus on race this much. I never imagined gyms and fitness studios would have to risk fines for doing their job of keeping us healthy. #DeFundTheMedia

Scared and Sad…

Rob and I learned a huge lesson in our 17 years together: 2 steps forward requires a step backwards. We’ve moved 8 times in 17 years, including our upcoming move back to Long Island—3 of those moves are inter-state moves, which count as 2-3 moves, in my opinion. The truth is, we’ve had great financial success in Maine and have a laid-back schedule. Our life here is very comfortable.
